MJ is a certified ISSA Nutrition Specialist and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. An athlete her whole life, she started to notice she was putting on weight soon after graduating college and working an office job that required her to sit for long periods of time. Focusing on her career, she allowed her time in the gym to go on the back burner. In her mid-twenties, she decided to take back control of her weight and lost nearly twenty pounds restricting “bad” foods, hitting the gym twice a day, and giving up most social activities since it was too tempting to want to drink alcohol and eat off plan.
At 27, at the suggestion of her workout partner, she decided to enter her first figure competition and for 3 years she would gain and lose the same twenty pounds to “get stage ready.” After some time, she suffered from diet fatigue and decided her competition days were over.
In her early thirties, MJ relocated from New Jersey to Boston for her corporate job. Again, this major life change immediately challenged her to maintain her healthy lifestyle and the weight starting creeping back on. Soon after moving to Boston, she met her husband Jeff. Luckily, he shared her interest in physical fitness and again, she lost those pesky pounds. After they were married in 2012, MJ and her husband wanted to start a family but they struggled to get pregnant. The stress caused her to start eating her feelings and she gained weight again. Ten, then twenty, then a whopping 30 pounds. In January 2015, MJ and her husband decided to join a local CrossFit gym and they both fell in love with the sport. Four months later, MJ found out she was pregnant and an additional 52 pounds later, she gave birth to a beautiful little girl.
After the birth of her daughter, MJ was determined to get back in shape and keep the weight off for good. She wanted to be a positive role model for her daughter and be able to be the healthy and fit mom she always imagined. She lost the baby weight, and then some, in about 9 months. However, once she stopped breast feeding, she noticed the scale was moving again in the wrong direction.
Finally, in her forties, she decided it was time to hire her own nutrition coach who helped her not only lose the weight, but taught her how to maintain this new fit body forever. Inspired by her new found “food freedom” and a strong desire to help others achieve their health and fitness goals, MJ sought out to become a nutrition coach herself. She's now helping others discover how to meet their weight loss goals and live a healthy sustainable lifestyle...like a BOSS!
I was tired of being the person who always had 20 pounds to lose. Through macro counting, I became the person who would never be 20 pounds overweight ever again. After discovering what worked, I began helping others reach their nutritional goals and I can help you too.

Laura is a certified ISSA Nutrition Specialist, a mother to two little girls and a life-long fitness enthusiast. Since she was young, Laura was always active and her competitive nature led her to become a three-sport athlete in high school, a D1 rower in college and marathoner (a casual marathoner, that is) in her 20s. Although her eating habits weren’t terrible, she loved food and this lifestyle allowed her to eat whatever she wanted as long as she continued to stay active.
After starting a family in her early thirties, raising two little girls while working full time in Boston took priority over exercising and eating well. Although Laura was able to lose most of the pregnancy weight and fit in some time at the gym, she didn’t feel like herself and she wasn’t happy with her body composition or fitness levels. She joined the CrossFit community in 2018 where she met MJ, who shared a similar passion for fitness. CrossFit was great for getting Laura back into feeling like an athlete, but she knew nutrition was the key to being stronger and faster.
When MJ explained her mission with Macro Boss Nutrition, Laura knew she had to hire MJ as a nutrition coach. The flexibility and freedom that counting macros allows was appealing to Laura and the idea of hitting 3 numbers each day seemed like an achievable goal. The Macro Boss Nutrition Program laid out clear goals from the start, and the weekly check-ins with MJ allowed for tweaks to the plan to ensure continued success. Laura lost over 30 pounds in 18 weeks and has maintained healthy eating habits well after ending the Macro Boss Program. Most importantly, she feels strong, healthy and in control of her body.
Having a healthy relationship with food and exercise, as well as having a positive body image, are important lessons that Laura instills in her daughters daily. Joining the Macro Boss Team was an exciting opportunity for Laura to help others achieve success and teach families to make healthy food choices to fuel their bodies.
